Early-generation nurseries hold thousands of entries and almost no data. Visual scoring can only cover a fraction of them, so selection pressure stays cautious: culling hard on a first impression risks discarding a genuinely superior line.
PhenoMobile scores the whole nursery in a single pass, delivering green cover, plant cover, plant height, biovolume and organ density on every micro-plot. Cloverfield ranks the population on those objective traits and filters the candidates for pre-selection.
Objective data on the entire population, rather than a sampled subset, lets breeders raise selection intensity while lowering the risk of losing the best material. Proven on a wheat nursery of 1,200 micro-plots scored twice in the season, and applicable to barley, soybean and pulses.
