Shelf-life & Fruit Degradation Scoring (R&D)

Samples are imaged under identical conditions on a fixed schedule; color change, shrinkage, blemishes and decay are scored to predict degradation rates and shelf-life.

Shelf-life & Fruit Degradation Scoring (R&D)

A degradation curve for every individual sample, rather than a coarse end-point grade

Shelf-life is usually reduced to an end-point grade: how the sample looked on the last day of the test. Everything in between, the moment two varieties diverge or the rate at which a treatment slows decay, is lost, and the grade itself depends on the assessor.

PhenoStation images every sample under identical conditions on a fixed schedule. Color shift, shrinkage, blemishes and decay are scored at each session, and Cloverfield fits a degradation curve per sample, variety and treatment.

Varieties and treatments are ranked on quantitative shelf-life, divergence is detected early, and reliable degradation rates feed logistics and storage planning. Designed for R&D on apple, pear and kiwi.
